The Olivia Newton-John celebrity doll portrays her at 28 years old in her role of high school student Sandy Olson in the 1978 box-office hit film Grease, which was adapted from the Broadway hit. In 2003  Mattel released the 25th anniversary celebratory Collector Edition Grease Barbie.  It retailed for $34.95. 

Newton-John is an English(born) and Australian(raised) singer, actress, and song writer.  Her early fame began as a pop singer in the UK.  Her US success came as a country singer and was the first British person to win a Grammy for Female Country song which eventually led her to move to the US.  Her career and US fame exploded with the movie Grease and she topped the charts with went certified platinum with her song Physical.  Sadly she died at 73 in 2022 from her third bout of breast cancer.  She was advocate for women’s health and the environment.

The Olivia Newton-John Sandy Barbie comes wearing a replica outfit of her black leather Sandy look from the graduation carnival Grease movie “You’re The One That I Want” finale scene.  The black pleather jacket has faux silver zippers on the front and sleeve bottoms, two studs, and an attached black belt with a silver buckle, and a inside red satin lining.

Underneath is a collared low v-neck black knit short cap sleeved body suit. A black ribbon belt with a silver interlocking buckle clasp is sewn around the waist. The suit is sewn closed in the back and must be taken off by unbuckling the front clasp and stretch down through the wide collar. The bottom of the pant legs are stitch up in a v on the inside of the legs. On the feet are plastic tan and red strapless slide on heeled sandals.

The face is painted with green smokey eyes and red open mouth lips.  Rooted short curly locks finish the Sandy look.  The finger and toe nails are painted red.

Accessories include large gold loop earrings, a black base doll stand,  and a certificate of authenticity.
