The Rita Moreno Barbie Signature Tribute Collection doll was released by Mattel on November 19. 2024. It was designed by Javi Meabe and retailed for $40.
Morena is best known for her role as Anita in the 1961 film West Side Story. She has been awarded two Emmys, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony (EGOT), a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA. She has been honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1995, the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Bush in 2004, the National Medal of Arts in 2009 and Kennedy Center Honors in 2015 by President Obama, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012, and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2013. From her first Broadway role as Angelina in the 1945 production of Skydrift at 11 years old to her three comedic film roles in 80 for Brady, Fast X( 10th Fast & Furious) and Family Switch at 92 years old, her talent is well deserved to be commemorated in a Tribute Barbie at 93 years old.
