The Samantha Cristoforetti celebrity doll depicts her as herself, an Italian European Space Agency astronaut, at 37 years old. Cristoforetti spent a continuous 199 days and 16 hours in space as part of the crew of Expedition 42/43 on the International Space Station (ISS) in 2014-15. She is currently training for her second mission and and is scheduled to take command of ISS Expedition 68 in spring 2022. The Barbie Signature doll was released by Mattel on August 21, 2021.
Mattel made two special versions (one in a space suit and one in her blue ESA flight suit uniform) of Cristoforetti Barbie dolls for their Barbie’s 60th Birthday celebration back in 2019, but they were never available for sale to the public. This new version is a pared down space suit version and is available for sale internationally.

The Cristoforetti doll comes wearing a white waffled one piece ESA space suit, complete with patches and a thigh height red stripe on each leg. The ESA uniform has a Velcro opening up the back and is removable.
The helmet is a a two piece plastic cover with a clear face. It snaps together. White soft plastic boots and gloves are also included,
